Strategic Management

In support of the Dean of the College of Medicine, the Office of Strategic Management, under the leadership of the Senior Director of Strategy Management (SDSM), will lead transformation and growth strategies by driving key strategic initiatives and overseeing project management and technology-based initiatives across all business units and campus locations. 

Overview

The Office of Strategic Management provides a sustained focus on strategic planning and aligning initiatives and work across the organization in support of the mission of the college. Under the direction of the Dean, this unit supports all strategic planning related activities including:

  • Communicate, monitor, adjust, and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Onboard, train, and administer technology used for tracking progress and meaningful work performed in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure area units are aligned with the strategies, including budgetary and human resources.
  • Align college strategic planning initiatives with university and campus strategic plans.

 

The SDSM will use data-informed decision-making that is inclusive and collaborative and optimizes opportunities with the university, the health sciences campus, and all other campuses in the WSU system.

Strategic Management Collaboration

The SDSM works collaboratively with senior leadership and across business units to align goals and oversee strategic planning and execution. The Office of the Dean, Project Management Office, and the Office of Technology work together in support of the college to provide focus on strategic projects and driving work to completion for identified strategic initiatives. The Office of Strategic management collaborates with the university led Office of Strategy, Planning, and Analysis on strategic planning and data management initiatives.

Under the direction of Dean Record, the Office of Strategic Management is led by the Erika Fleck, Senior Director of Strategy Management and Lisa Tyran, Business Manager.
